Vivo Miles are the new reward scheme for years 7-11 . They are awarded when students have been good and caught doing something positive. This system has only been running for four weeks. Teachers give out about Eight hundred Vivo points a day. Four hundred have already been given out in only one morning. Today we have interviewed Mrs Martin, this is what she had to say:
“We saw that the students were less motivated by the old reward system and we changed it because the Vivo Miles gives the students a choice for example, there are some students that will want to spend their Vivos on stickers and pens, but some will want to save up. Its their choice and we have to learn that something will appeal to everyone.”
We also spoke to some student to see what they thought about the new awards system:
“It makes me want to be a good and helpful person and makes me more motivated to do well in school.”
“They’re very good but it seems like a long time to collect enough to get things you like.”
“It would be better if one Vivo Mile would represent more money in real life.”
We think that the Vivo Mile scheme is motivating and interesting. You always want to get some Vivos, so that you an save up and but something from either the Vivo shop or Argos.
Also I think that Vivo is a great way to inspire others in your behaviour.

Rad Week 2015
Rad week 2015 is the third year that Northfleet School for Girls have hosted Rad Week. Rad week stands for Raise And Donate week, and is when NSFG raises money for multiple charities. The charities that are being supported this year are:
· Lively Minds
· Downs Animal Farm Trust
· More Than Words
· Women’s Refuge
In 2013, we rose over £2000 and in 2014 we raised over just over £1700. This year we plan to raise more than we ever have before by people joining in activities. Some of these activities include a bake sale, soak the teacher, student and staff talent shows and many more. This year, Rad Week falls on a 4 day week, and if everyone donates £3, then we can raise over £3000, and with many people joining in with activities, we could raise even more. The events do not cost that much money and even just a few people taking part could make a big difference. Each of the charities above are all helping people in need and by donating and raising money during Rad week, you can help too. Lively minds help people in Ghana and Uganda with reading and writing as they do not gave the advantages that we have. Downs Animal Farm Trust takes injured animals or animals in danger into their care and helps them get well. More than Words helps children with autism and helps their families care for the children and last but not least, the Women’s refuge helps women to cope with their lives.
We asked Ms. Higgins about Rad Week, and she told us what she thought about it. She told us that she got her inspiration for Rad week was when she was at school and she did something similar, and she loved helping other people while also having a good time. Next year she hopes to get parents, more students and more sixth form involved, and a wider range of activities in 2016.
